I recently got a house in Sydney and would like to remodel it to make it Eco friendly before I move in. Are there of any zoning regulations that can derail the project?

Hey there!
The NSW government has apparently released a very important bill on building eco friendly houses in the year 2004 july. you are on the right track however in your choice to build along the same lines. Home builders are forced to follow the BASIX regulations when they build their house or infact even remodel. With this regulation you're building's roof, floor and wall are checked for thermal performance. and there are alot more guidelines that need to be followed while re-modelling.

Hi Aturo

To be on the safe side you can start off by visiting the city of Sydney official website (cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/) that has a zoning section. Some of the general information here includes the building code that can give you ideas of types of property modifications permitted. You contact eco-freindly building material suppliers for details.
