I understand that any renting property you have that is rented out is liable to an income tax which should be included in the tax returns. If I have a flat mates living with but paying out, is this money I get liable for an income tax?
Whether you have rented out land or buildings, commercial or private, private lodgers or flat mates, the income you get is liable for an income tax. So make sure you include it in your tax returns. It’s like you have basically provided rental for your friends hence the tax on rental income applies here too.
Income tax must be paid every year. The basis here is that you are earning from the residential property throughout the year. A tax register is a very important reference point that indicates the much that you ought to pay in every year. If you are not an Australian citizen, you will be required to pay an additional 10% withholding tax.

It is very important for you to take note of the differences that exist between those who are citizens of Australia and those who are not. If you are an Australian citizen and those who are not. If you are an Australian national, then you need not worry since all you will be required to pay is income tax. All other payments are for other categories of income earners. A good example is those who are yet to get Australian citizenship.
